There are many patients whose symptoms, when analyzed, seem to indicate the influence of jinn, magic, the evil eye, or hasad. Yet during a ruqyah session, no visible reaction appears in their body. No shaking, no screaming, no movement—they remain completely still.
In reality, ruqyah practitioners discuss several possible reasons behind this.
Possible reasons
1. The inner influence hides itself
In some cases, the jinn or influence inside the body is cunning and hateful, and it hides itself behind a strong defense or shield. As a result, even if it feels the effect of ruqyah, it does not show it outwardly.
2. The main center of affliction is the home or environment
Many times, the patient may not feel much at the center, but after returning home, severe symptoms appear. In such cases, the following may be noticed:
- Extreme tiredness and exhaustion
- The body becoming heavy
- Headache or pressure
- Excessive sleepiness
- Irritation toward family members
- Discomfort even toward the people who took the patient for ruqyah
- Reluctance to go for ruqyah again
What can be done?
1. Do not remain limited to general ruqyah only
In some cases, a planned treatment approach may be needed that targets both internal and external influences.
2. Consider supportive therapies
Depending on the condition, some supportive measures are used, such as:
- Istifragh session
- Tadmir session
- Hijama
- Ishaal or diarrhea therapy
- Massage session
- Fire cupping
3. Treat the home environment
- Perform ruqyah inside the house
- Sprinkle ruqyah water
- Keep regular Quran recitation active in the home
4. Targeted ruqyah
If there is an idea of external control, a guarding jinn, or the influence of a magician, ruqyah needs to target that part as well.
Note: No reaction does not always mean there is no problem. At the same time, a reaction does not automatically prove a spiritual cause. Careful assessment is necessary.
